5 Things to Tell Yourself When You Start Doubting God’s Existence

Do you sometimes doubt God’s existence? Do you sometimes worry that what you believe might be wrong and maybe all the sacrifices you made for God are just in vain? Do hardships and struggles in your life lead you to question whether God really exists or not? I certainly can relate to this. Whenever these questions pop into my mind, I simply remind myself of these five points.

God exists and you can count on that fact.

Point no. 1: There’s no better alternative to Christianity

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

If I stop believing in God, then what’s left to believe in? If I go to other religions, it simply doesn’t satisfy the spiritual void in my heart. If I turn to atheism, then I will be a god of my own life – something that is truly a formula for self-destruction.

It is very obvious in my mind that the belief in God’s existence give me a sense of direction and there’s no other way I can gain that. This belief behooves me to live my life knowing one day I will be held accountable by my Creator.

Point number 2: Jesus’ resurrection is REAL

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas , then by thetwelve . After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once , of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James , then by all the apostles . Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time” (I Corinthians 15:3-8).

If Jesus wasn’t resurrected, then the whole world of Christianity will fall apart. However, Jesus’ resurrection is a proven fact and it must not just be based on blind faith. If Jesus wasn’t resurrected, then why the disciples and early Christians wouldSTRONGLY be willing to follow the teachings of Jesus to the point of death ? There are also hundreds of people at that time who can attest to the truthfulness of Jesus’ resurrection.

Point number 3: God’s way is the only way that works

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him (Psalms 18:30).

God’s way is perfect and you cannot improve something that’s already perfect. I am quickly convinced that God truly exists when I thought how God’s commandments are designed for our own good. Imagine if every single person in this world would just keep the Ten Commandments. This world will be a better place to live in. Applying God’s commandments in our lives leads to blessedness and joyfulness. No other religions come close to the benevolence of the commandments of God and the veracity of His word. This alone can prove His existence.

Point number 4: It takes more faith to believe in the theory of evolution than to believe in God’s existence.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1).

The only way to explain how we came into being, apart from God, is the theory of evolution. This theory has so many loopholes that it takes a leap of faith to believe in it. If I don’t believe in God, then I am forced to believe in the theory of evolution, which I believe lacks the many criteria to be considered as a proven fact.

Point number 5: Life without God is like a broken pencil, it is pointless.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Yes, we can live a fulfilling and happy life without God (though that can be difficult), but that is just during this lifetime. Without God, there is no hope beyond the grave . Without God, our life is just as insignificant as any animal on this planet. Without God, our life is just a blink-of-an-eye existence in the infinite blackness of this vast universe. But if you include God in the equation, then your life will never be the same again. You will suddenly develop a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.

Conclusion

God exists and you can count on that fact. In times you face the battle against doubts and fears, keep these five points in mind. Most importantly, pray to God for Him to strengthen your faith. God is able and is more than willing to build an intimate relationship with you. So lift up your head and know for SURE that He truly exists.
